Made from 7oz. vegetable tanned blackened leather measuring 58" long x 1-1/4" wide, hand sewn with waxed linen thread. It has the Henry swivel hook and there are 2 brass sling hooks, one either end and 2 sliding tension keepers.
This Type 2 sling is frequently being found on original Henry rifles that are being sold through Collector’s Firearms in Houston, TX. After speaking with Les Quick, author of “The Story of Benjamin Tyler and His Famed Repeating Henry Rifle”, it is believed this type 2 sling was never produced by the Federal Govt. or by the manufacturer of the Henry, but was believed to be made by a subcontractor due to the heavy demand and low supply of this popular firearm.
