Cast brass with die-stamped brass tongue disc. Pre-war military plate made by northern firm whose products enjoyed wide distribution (Va., S.C., La., Al., Ga., and many others). The original tongue disc has been lead filled. The wreath’s laurel leaf design was copied by the confederates for their CS Richmond style wreaths.
