Cast brass plate with a die-stamped brass tongue disc. Well-made plate believed to have originated in New Orleans before its capture in April 1862. This plate is one of very few CS plates with die-stamped discs and a distinctive wreath - not copied from a pre-war plate. Finish and fit are excellent.
